Regardless of how great the concept sounds, the fact of the matter is that two-in-one shampoo-conditioner sucks. It sucks so much that it could be the death of your hair.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a Reason You Shampoo Before You Condition<\/h2>\n

No matter what\u00a0type of hairstyle<\/a>\u00a0you have, you always wash your hair with shampoo before you condition it with moisturizer. The two-step process makes sense because of how the products benefit your hair.<\/p>\n

When you wash with shampoo, the product removes dirt and other pollutants from your hair. Unfortunately, shampoo also strips away many of the natural oils that your hair needs for good health.\u00a0Jonathan Van Ness<\/a>, the style expert from\u00a0Queer Eye<\/i>, knows this well, which is why he only uses shampoo once or twice a week. According to him, washing too often will remove the oils that make hair beautiful.<\/p>\n

In the article, Daniel Davies, who works for the well-respected\u00a0Pall Mall Barbers<\/a>\u00a0chain in London explains that the products don\u2019t work because of your cuticles, which is the outermost layer that protects your hair.<\/p>\n

When you use a\u00a0good, organic shampoo<\/a>, your cuticles open so you can wash away dirt. Conditioner, however, closes the cuticles to protect hair from damage. As Davies says, \u201cA single product cannot open and close the cuticle at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Basically, two-in-one shampoo-conditioners don\u2019t respect your cuticles. Since the cuticles play such a crucial role in keeping your hair attractive and healthy, these supposedly time-saving products can only cause damage.<\/p>\n

There Are No Shortcuts to Healthy, Attractive Hair<\/h2>\n

People buy two-in-one shampoo-conditioner products for convenience. You only have to use the products a few times, though, before you discover that there are no shortcuts to achieving healthy, attractive hair.<\/p>\n
