The latest breakthrough in hair restoration, exosome therapy is a cutting-edge treatment that utilizes the human body’s special ability to heal itself, resulting in faster and more robust hair growth than with other non-surgical therapies. At Barber Surgeons Guild®, years of research drives our approach to hair restoration and hair maintenance as we innovate and implement the latest in advanced medical treatments and technology. Barber Surgeons Guild®’s Exosome Therapy offers distinct benefits to both male and female patients in early and/or later stages of hair loss as it is efficient, targeted, and highly effective in facilitating cell regeneration.
Stem cell therapy and, in particular, exosome therapy is the latest in the world of regenerative medicine. In the field of hair restoration science, exosome therapy has shown proven results in combating men’s and women’s hair loss, including androgenetic alopecia, the medical term for male or female pattern baldness.
Exosomes are membrane-bound extracellular vesicles released from stem cells that give them the faculty to regenerate and repair tissue they come in contact with. They stimulate healing, anti-inflammatory responses, and cellular growth by communicating, carrying genetic information, and over 1,000 protein growth factors directly into cells throughout the body. These nano-particles are 1/1000th the size of a stem cell and have the ability to travel through barriers too large for other cells. As a result, exosomes are more efficient, highly targeted, and far more flexible at facilitating cell regeneration, including that of hair follicles.
Barber Surgeons Guild®’s Exosome Therapy utilizes an exosome serum delivered via injection directly into the scalp or site of hair loss or thinning. When the serum is injected into thinning or affected scalp areas, it is carefully spaced to maximize effectiveness. Once in place, the exosomes begin to provide molecular signals to facilitate cellular communication and stimulate a natural healing process for the damaged hair follicles and tissue. Over time, healthier hair starts to regrow, with more volume and thickness.
After treatment, patients can resume daily activities after a day of rest, though the scalp may feel some discomfort for the next week. Natural hair growth can happen as soon as eight weeks after and continue for a year. Noticeable results are commonly seen about three to six months after and the longevity of the results can vary from person to person, however, most see results lasting at least a year.
At Barber Surgeons Guild® we treat both men’s and women’s hair loss. For women suffering from hair loss that may not be a good candidate for surgical hair restoration procedures, Barber Surgeons Guild®‘s Exosome Therapy may be the best treatment option as it is non-surgical, natural, and highly efficient in targeting problem areas.
Exosome therapy has been proven to stimulate hair follicles that have been frozen in the resting phase into the growth phase. Research has also shown the follicles to sustain the growth cycle for a longer period, allowing hair strands to become thicker and have more volume.
Recent studies on androgenic alopecia have also determined that exosomes stimulate hair growth much earlier than conventional, non-surgical therapies, and without any reported adverse side effects, showing improved hair density and thickness in as little as 12 weeks in most cases.
It’s important to note that, even with its hair growth properties, exosome therapy is no substitute for hair restoration procedures. The BSG exosome protocol is expected to thicken up the hair and help slow future loss, but if a more dramatic result is sought after, robotic hair restoration is the best way to achieve that goal. Many people however utilize BSG’s Exosomes protocol even after they have had a restorative procedure to ensure the best long-term results, while others utilize it well before they ever could possibly need a procedure, simply to keep their hair as thick as possible.
Exosome therapy can be used in the early and/or later stages of hair loss. The procedure can also be used in combination with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), Low-Level Laser therapy, or surgical hair restoration procedures to target problem areas.
