The Best September Getaways in the U.S. to Rejuvenate for Fall
Fall is one of the busiest times of year, with schools restarting and many businesses ramping up. If you want to go into the fall with tons of energy and a good attitude, think about taking a vacation before the season starts. By escaping to a place that boasts fresh air and fun, you’ll be ready to tackle autumn head on.
Here are some of the best places in the U.S. where you can rejuvenate for fall:
The Hamptons
The Hamptons are a collection of beach towns on the South Fork of Long Island, and they’re where NYC’s richest and most famous go to vacation. Visits to the Hamptons drop after Labor Day, so head to one of the beaches and take advantage of the warm weather at a less ridiculous price. Yellowstone National Park
Maybe the best way for you to achieve a fresh state of mind is through adventure. If you love adventure travel, head to Yellowstone National Park during September. September is a great time to visit Yellowstone because the busy season ends in the summer and you’ll have more room to roam without running into annoying tourists. Be sure to check out the best sights, like Old Faithful, the Yellowstone Caldera and Yellowstone Lake. For more organized activities, consider going horseback riding to view the park from the back of a majestic animal.
The Outer Banks
A more rugged beach setting than the Hamptons, the Outer Banks are a collection of islands off of North Carolina that will make you feel worlds away from the rest of civilization. There are plenty of famous sights to see on the Outer Banks, including Cape Hatteras, Bodie Island Lighthouse and the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. If all you want to do is relax on the beach, pick a fitness plan and make sure you get your beach body ready for the vacay. North Carolina stays pretty warm into September, so you may just be able to enjoy a swim in the ocean.
Solvang
You may not have the time or money to make it all the way to Denmark in September. But you can get a little taste of it by visiting Solvang in the Santa Ynez Valley. Solvang is full of cute inns and trendy hotels. In Solvang, you can go wine tasting, swim at your hotel pool, enjoy delicious Danish baked goods and simply pretend you’re on a European vacation. Famous Danish Instagrammer Mette Marie Lei Lange recently went to Solvang with her family—and they had a blast! Hey, if it’s good enough for a real Dane, it’s good enough for you.
September is one of the last warm months of the year in much of the U.S., so take advantage of the nice weather and travel before fall begins. You can recuperate from a busy summer and build up the energy you need to tackle the fall with excitement.
